JOY!
Say the word – Joy.
How do you feel when you think about the word Joy? I found a definition in Webster’s Collegiate Dictionary Fifth Edition that resonates with what I am writing here. It is:
1. The emotion excited by the acquisition or expectation of good; gladness; delight.
2. State of happiness; bliss.
3. That which causes happiness.
4. The exhibition of joy; gaiety.
Say the word again – Joy. How does saying the word makes you feel?
It’s just 3 letters but those 3 letters J O Y create such a powerful word. Think about it. The emotion excited by the expectation of good. JOY!
Who creates this emotion? Who decides when you can be joyful? YOU do. No matter what is going on in your life you have total control over how you choose to feel about it. You control your emotions. No one else can cause you to feel one way or another unless you allow them to.
Eleanor Roosevelt put it this way: “All the water in the world cannot drown you unless it gets inside of you.”
Today decide to live with an expectation of good. Set your intention for Joy. See each moment as a new opportunity to choose how you will experience your life ~ full of Joy or not.
JOY!
