Recently I have been sharing the call for peace that James Twyman, the Peace Troubadour, has been organizing around the world. Peace has been on my mind a lot lately. Yesterday I was heading into my library to do some work and a book caught my eye. I pulled The New Revelations: A Conversation With God by Neale Donald Walsch off the shelf and opened it. Clipped inside the front cover on green lined paper I found some notes I recorded from the book. Written upon the paper were the Five Steps to Peace:
- I acknowledge that some of my old beliefs about God and about Life are no longer working.
- I acknowledge that there is something I do not understand about God and about Life, the understanding of which could change everything.
- I am willing for new understandings of God and Life to now be brought forth, understandings that could produce a new way of life on this planet.
- I am willing to explore and examine these new understandings, and, if they align with my inner truth and knowing, to enlarge my belief system to include them.
- I am willing to live my life as a demonstration of my beliefs.
I offer the Five Steps to Peace as an exercise for you to think about what you really believe as opposed to what you have been told to believe. If you are interested in reading the chapter that reviews the Five Steps to Peace, you can find them in chapter 6, starting on page 50, of The New Revelations: A Conversation with God by Neale Donald Walsch.
